Zach Montez,

Director of Percussion

Mr. Montez spent 4 years as the Director of Percussion for the Woodrow Wilson High School Cluster in Dallas, Texas. Prior to his experience at Woodrow Wilson, he student taught at the Mansfield Summit High School cluster as well as private lessons around the DFW area. Mr. Montez holds a BM in Music Education from Texas Christian University, where he was a student of Brian West. Additional studies have been with percussionists Richard Gipson, Joey Carter, Andy Eldridge, Ellis Hampton, Tim Sivils, and Craig Turner.

As a performer, Mr. Montez has had the opportunity to perform with TCU’s Percussion Orchestra at Percussive Arts Society International Convention. He was a member of the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corp in 2016. With Boston Crusaders he had the opportunity to perform in the Drum Corps International Championships. Other performing groups consist of TMEA All-State Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Texas Christian University Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, and Steel Band from 2013-2017.
